The best part of the film for me was how they portrayed the transition from man to wolf in sound and vision. And the switch between how his family perceives their surroundings and how he perceives them.

Despite the compressed time frame, I still found it incredibly moving. As a fan of the Fly, I think watching your husband or father succumb to illness is even more harrowing. I thought the performances were convincing, ably balancing the characters survival instinct with the different stages of grief. Julia Garner's difficulty in processing such emotions in rapid succession is well portrayed. She does act like a woman in shock and disbelief for most of the films runtime with her emotions being tempered with the knowledge that she has to be a source of strength and comfort to her daughter. The interactions she has rang completely true to me.

Who here also likes the _Wolfman_ from 2010 with Benicio del Toro? Personally, I think its hugely underrated.

In my memories "Wolfen" (with Albert Finney) was amazing, though haven't seen it in decades. Shame to hear Whannell's film is dull, was looking forward to it.

"On paper there's an interesting idea here..." You know at that point how the review is going to go.

I didn’t find it dull at all. It was more about emotional connection between the father and his family, but there were still very tense moments in my opinion.

"On paper, there's an interesting idea here" is the beginning of many an otherwise promising production.

I thought this was very good. It wasn't the usual werewolf routine. I loved the transitions between the view perceived by the wife and daughter and the view the creature had. It was very clever and a unique, quite heartbreaking effect.
