2011 Buick Regal: Dangerous (New) Transmission Issue

preview_player
Показать описание
The transmission in our 2011 Buick Regal failed after six years of ownership. We just got the transmission replaced a few weeks ago, and ever since, we’ve had this issue where the vehicle gets stuck in a lower gear. As we accelerate, the engine rev’s, but won’t kick into the higher gear. We’ve brought the vehicle into the dealership twice, and they haven’t been able to recreate the issue, but it’s already happened to us three times today.

These Regals should have been recalled. Mine had all kinds of weird issues.

What about shutting it off in neutral and restarting it while coasting?

I owned Buick Verano 2012, and I just bought it 9 months ago at 59, 000 mileage. As I speak, I’m faced with similar issue with my transmission control module (TCM). I took it to two dealerships, but they only blowed my budget without having any positive impact on my car. An hour after picking my car from both dealership, the problem came back as never before. SAD! I love this car, but by the day, I’m losing hope in GM products. I wouldn’t advise anyone to buy GM products, from personal experience.

so what caused the problem with that transmission every time he hasn't stopped the car and started back up and reset it

2012 Buick Regal GS 2 liter turbo did the same thing. I did not believe it was the TCM Or transmission.I felt like something was telling the transmissto to go into this Erratic non shifting mode. Transmission is the Aisin AF-40 six-speed automatic. The stability track warning showed up on instrument cluster. A couple other comments were right on the money about Ignition coils and spark plugs. The misfires will cause the transmission to go into this non shifting mode. Fixed ours for $40 by changing a Ignition coil pack. Used a scanner to find out what coil pack was miss firing. Tip do not use box store transmission fluid. Use ONLY what is recommended for the transmission.

You can reset it by putting it into tricktronic by moving the shifter to the left

You can actually put the car in neutral and shutdown the engine and restarting it while still in neutral..that’s if you can’t come to a complete stop
