These could be Pheidole pilifera. (Big headed ants). The reason why the big headed ants shown here don't have disproportionally sized heads, is because there are different castes of ants meant for doing different jobs. So those ants were workers, and not the majors and supermajors with massive heads used for crushing food. Some Pheidole species use their heads to seal the entrances to their nest from predators. Kinda neat.

6yrs later and some of the biggest changes in my life setting up my adulthood while i am a teenager, and i can always come back to this channel and you keep being you. you dont change your style, which is great, ive seen so many youtubers change over just a small amount of time, but youre like a rock (no pun intended) in this community, i love it. got me thru some of the worst and best parts of my life.

The sound of the earth under your feet and the trickling water is so relaxing for me. This was wonderful.

Ah… Rift. I used to find myself skipping through your nature walks, trying to find the parts where you would look under rocks near a stream. This video is just perfect, and I’m about to enjoy every second of it.

YES! I just did this with my ten year old nephew last week when we were camping and looking for frogs. Love it, thank you! This is my scene. Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮🦎

This reminds me of when I would go to summer camp as a kid. Me and my friends would look for salamanders and frogs out in the woods whenever the counselors would take us out there for some camp activities. We often found ourselves by creeks like this

Looking under rocks can be like looking for treasure. And when you do find something, it can be rewarding.

Paul, I had the opportunity to do these very activities as a child as there was a 'crick' in the backyard. Lots of frogs, bugs, snakes and a 'natural area' so I had my own personal forest (a wildlife sanctuary, if you will) with which to explore -- and explore, I did! A great many memories of my explorations! 🤘🌳🌲🤘

Hey uncle E! Don't know if you mentioned this in your video because I didn't watch the whole thing yet but if you're gonna film in little creeks and/or shallow water again a polarizing lens filter might be a nice investment. Just a suggestion! Thanks for the content <3
