UNIVERSITY OF STIRLING… 0

Another strong performance from the Celtic FC B team saw the side gain three points with a convincing 6-0 win over the University of Stirling, meaning the side is now unbeaten in their last four league games.

Corey Thomson got things underway with the opener but all the action came in the second half, when Bruno Davidson, Bosun Lawal, Ben Summers and another from Thomson solidified the victory.

The young Celts dominated possession in the first-half of the game creating a number of opportunities, several of which came from fantastic link play between Lawal and Summers.

The first goal came on the 28th minute and stemmed from Lawal’s first-touch pass to Summers, who played a perfectly weighted ball through to Ben Quinn who charged into the box and cut the ball back to Thomson, who was waiting patiently in the area and made no mistake, firing it straight into the top right-hand corner to put the Bhoys ahead.

It was not until the second-half that the B team would get their second, when Davidson made an instant impact off the bench.

The Celts broke straight from the whistle and with another dangerous run down the right flank from Rocco Vata, his low cross into the box was met by Davidson, who slotted it into the net on the 46th minute to put the team 2-0 up.

Continuing to dominate possession all over the pitch, the Hoops' next chance came from Lawal who caught the Stirling goalkeeper on the edge of his box and took his chances with an attempt on goal from well inside the Celtic half. With the ball soaring over the keeper, his attempt just missed, landing on top of the net.

It wasn’t long after that Lawal would successfully convert, as he was perfectly placed to tap in Davidson’s cross on the 75th minute.

With the Hoops comfortably leading 3-0, the intensity only continued to rise. After a breakdown in Brooks’ counter-attack, the opposition goalie was once again caught on the edge of his box and Thomson reacted quickest to send a long-range effort found the back of the net with his final touch before being substituted.

The fifth came not long after as Davidson continued to prove a threat to the Stirling side, teeing up second-half substitution Brooks in the box who slotted home with 83 minutes on the clock.

To round off a dominant display, Summers' impressive long-range strike from well outside the box secured the sixth and added to the combined total of 14 goals across the team's last three fixtures.

With this weekend’s Lowland League match against Rangers B postponed, it means the next time the young Hoops are in action will be against Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League next Tuesday at the Excelsior (September 6).

B team is flying just now after a few mixed results at the start of the season. Hopefully now they can go on a long unbeaten run like the first team, there's a lot of talent there and some of them should be knocking on the door and progressing into the main squad and regular first eleven players.

That was a great shot and goal when the goalie was caught too far up the park.

Only a couple of minutes highlights, but lots of good play and goals from our B team 👏

There should be a competition between Celtic Women's, Mens and B team for who can score the most goals !
They aren't getting any competition from the opposition ! 🙂

Great to see big scores, but what are these boys learning playing poor teams, bring back reserve league or get good prospects out on loan to either lower league Scottish or English teams, and even better if Scottish premier teams
