The motor sounds rough because its been used without a dust bag, which will just break the motor. DIY vac or not, Henry bags are not expensive if you buy them from a cheap shop. Use them or have a broken motor.

People who are saying the henry has a broken motor cause of no dust bag well my old henry has no dust bag and it’s perfectly fine and it's on low mode cause old henry’s have low and high speed
