In my opinion, I think DC has the brighter future. James Gunn said that story telling is what's most important in his DC slate video, and he proved that good storytelling was a thing with superhero movies in Guardians 1-3 and peacemaker/suicide squad. Not to mention that he's going to bring characters no one's heard or really cared about like Booster gold and the authority. Expanding to other series that could blow our minds like Lanterns and Paradise Lost. A FREAKING SWAMP THING MOVIE!? I have full faith he will do the best

I still think Marvel may be on top for the next couple of years, at least in terms of fanfare due to their already established audience and having projects like F4, Spiderman 4, and Avengers.
However after that if DC consistently puts out quality content it's anyone's game.

Putting my bias aside, I still think Marvel has the edge. James Gunn has a LOT of pressure on him and he has to hit it out of the gate with "Superman" or it could be considered another DC setback

Im an aspiring film student and I hope to one day make a superhero movie franchise that would top both of them. Im gonna take all the things marvel and dc did good as well as learn from their mistakes to make a beautiful rich story with characters that act human and I wont be afraid to kill off characters and focus on storytelling and good characters. This is a very bold dream but I hope it works out.

It's hard to say this without them first proving they can actually do it, but DC sure seems to be in a prime position to take charge. If CC and Superman end up being great I imagine it will ignite the fanbase with freshly formed optimism. That's what we need right now. Everything and everyone is so negative, we need that spark to get behind.

I think people need to realize that the DCEU's failure wasn't DC's fault it was the people in charge. I like Snyder but his vision didn't fit a cinematic universe. And let's be honest Warner Brothers kept interfering so a good DC Cinematic Universe was impossible. But now that DC has its own studio and a plan they actually have a chance. I want DC to thrive they are legendary without them there is no superhero genre. Marvel had their time in the spotlight it's DC's turn now. Hopefully the DCU is good I'm hoping they take inspiration from the DCAU. That universe is the blueprint for a perfect DC Cinematic Universe.

Post end game, marvel had 4 movies that made significant money. DC hasn’t had a hit in years. Even Gunn’s Suicide Squad lost money. Before you talk about Gunn’s 10 year plan and it’s “future” they need to have a movie that hits.

From everything I've seen I'd say DC definitely has a brighter future than marvel especially with James Gunn in control having a strong love for the character's who's also a big comic book nerd which makes it even better knowing he follows the source material while focusing a lot on storytelling

I can appreciate that the DCU’s opening movie slate isn’t as generic as the DCEU’s was, which just tried to rush into Justice League as fast as possible.

DCU: Superman, The Authority, The Brave and the Bold, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Swamp Thing, TBA…


You have a few well known heroes in Superman, Supergirl, Batman, and Robin, but you also have some unusual picks like The Authority and Swamp Thing

It makes DC feel like it’s actually going to be a sprawling, interconnected universe; characters from all sorts of genres and styles coexisting and probably teaming up for Justice League movies. I honestly can’t wait and really hope this ends up being good!

In my opinion Marvel tells a story With its characters Not its actions and marvel knows that if they put out a crappy movie people will still watch it unlike dc where they are fumbled the bag so many times that they know that if they screw up again it may be the end.
