Worlds away with memories
Of killing time and dreams
Think of me, it was so cold we burned
And as they leave, they cross my mind

No time, I think it's over
This life inside I steal as mine
Look in your eyes, you're worlds away
And life is locked inside you

Then, you sleep and city walls
They dissolve to dreams
Children cry, they're losing everything

From heart to heart
The beat slow fades
The sun explodes the night time
For all we know
There's nothing changed

Look in your eyes you're worlds away
Where art is love is science
A million miles, a thousand minds
Now worlds away

Oh no, don't say goodbye
When you can love only one thing
And they want you to know
It's you, it's you
Worlds away
Don't say goodbye.

If any song from the 80s will make you ache for that time, this one will do it.
The longing becomes almost painful. We thought the future would bring us higher, we were too young to realize we were already on top.

Well shit. Somehow I got old.
But for 7 minutes and 8 seconds, I'm young again, flying down the dirt roads with this song playing on the radio. Cranked to 11, ready to live forever.

Just heard the beginning of this great tune on the radio in the car. Just returned from grocery shopping, so my wife and I hurried inside so I could play the whole song. A brilliant 80's song.

Close your eyes and listen....you can go back....to a time when things felt like magic. Even in 2019, I can feel the 80's still in me. I will never let that go. Something no one can take from me.

I so miss the 80's We had the best music ever produced. New Wave and Punk. I am going to hit 59 soon. We grew up to fast.

This song is unfathomably epic, its supposed to be sad but there is a strong life force in the composition that resonates with hope.

Heard this for the first time in decades on CHOM 97.7 (Montreal) and I never realized how extraordinary this is.
Brings me back to a time of hope, when we all saw a brighter future ahead for all of us.

There was some terrific music being made in Canada during this period...Dark Room, Strange Advance, Spoons, Arrows...

Still brings me to tears. I still have it on vinyl (not sure of quality). Even as an American, this is a good example of why Can-Con matters.

One of the best intros to an 80s song. The way that one note resolves at 0:44 and the following two notes that just seem to fumble their way in while being supported by a sustained chord and synthesized electric violins just transports me to another time & place where magic exists & nothing is wrong.

Lying in bed as a young teenager, I would listen to the radio and record music on cassettes. Once, in the wee hours, this song came on. Mesmerized by the first 30 seconds I heard, I finally with trembling fingers, pressed record...

I never knew the name of the song, or the name of the band but this song stayed with me through the years. It was the soundtrack to many a daydream, the backdrop of countless sci-fi stories even though the cassette didn't last very long.

Just this year I typed into Google some of the lyrics I remembered and with great anticipation it brought me here.

As the first notes came out of my speakers I burst into tears. This song had meant that much to me.
I'm 53 now and this song is like time travel...

For just a brief moment I'm a teenager again, dreaming my dreams of a future that never materialized, the promise that music such as this convinced me lay in store.
Such a bittersweet experience.
I love ❤️ this song.

I heard this song on the radio in central Wisconsin in the 80's, visiting the grandparents at their land (former farm), recorded it off the air on a cassette...super low quality. Unfortunately I didn't catch the song name or group, and years (decades!) later, had forgotten. Even after the internet was invented, had a doozy of a time looking it up. So glad to hear it again!

Say what you want about 1980's synth bands -- Strange Advance was a class act. "Love Becomes Electric" is another of their classics. They just had some magic with this genre many other bands didn't close to. Sincere vocals, lovely melodies and arrangements -- there, that's the key -- they had arrangements to their songs. Layered and tight, emotional and intense. Band should have lasted for a long time...they never seemed to run out of good ideas in their presentations. Very appealing.
