That's a great observation about the theater-style writing of Dune, and the way Herbert leaves the big action between chapters. True love for a book talking.

Get the strong feeling we will see a several cut scenes from Two prior to Three’s release. Example, Paul on his solo dessert trial with Chani helping him get started. I assumed she was half-day’s walk from Sietch Tabr, but maybe not. Maybe there is material from the desert trial filling in some blanks.
