The good thing about selling puts is that if you sell those puts close to the bottom then as the underlying goes up the IV will crash as well and you will win on both delta and IV.

Good example right now is GME. Price could go up but the IV is juiced and if there isn't a violent move upward you'll lose money on your calls. Just don't go long on juiced options. It's a trap

So I have a question about your AMD example. If u would have sold calls to open your position before earnings… would that be positioning yourself directionally as well as positioning for the IV(Vega) coming down? Which would be “double dipping” making your contracts green instead of red?
