Hi Norma, just wanted to tell you that I have been working through the 3 adult books, levels 1-3, for the past 2 years. I am in the heart of level 3 but I revisit level 2, and even level 1, often. Your videos have helped me tremendously, particularly with timing. You play beautifully, and I thank you so much for posting your playing of all of the songs from these books on YouTube.

I'm learning this too and that looks like a Springer Spaniel laying under the piano. My Australian Shepherd lies beneath mine when I'm playing.

I am just starting out piano since about a year ago and I'm trying to learn this in the next 1 or 2 months, but I must say, even though I play the same notes as you, you have quite the touch.

This was one of the best of a few versions found here in youtube, impeccable respect of both dynamics and tempo markings, execution came through soothing and full of depth.. And after one day I keep coming back to listen to this recording as my final goal. Amazingly well done !

This is very good - encapsulates everything the teacher told me to do when playing this piece.

This is beautiful!! Thank you for all your videos. One question: when the rolled chord is played, should the right hand timing match the first note in the left hand or the last note?

Okay, these Alfred books like to make things a lot more confusing then they need to. In the very last measure (measure 16), they put a natural on the G note in the treble clef. Is that because there is an actual rule that if a G in the Bass clef got an accidental it applies to the treble clef as well.... Or is this just a case of Mr. Alfred throwing naturals all over the place wherever he feels like it?

Deep river, my home is over Jordan,
Deep river, Lord, I want to cross over into campground.
Oh, don’t you want to go to that gospel feast,
That promised land where all is peace?
Oh don’t you want to go to that promised land,
That land where all is peace?
Deep river, my home is over Jordan,
Deep river, Lord, I want to cross over into campground.

Maestro Norma, may i know at what level there are pieces that play 'like sliding the fingers across one to three octaves..'? What do we call that.?😏

I really want to see a video of how your Dog will react when he/she hears the chromatic scale hahaha

Hey,

I don’t know if you stil answer comments on your old videos but I have got a question. This song has a lot of rolled notes or arpeggiated notes for the left hand but which note of the rolled note should you play on the beat together with the righ-hand chord? Is there a rule for this or can you choose yourself? I hope you understand my question.
