I think rocky never lost his voice and instead he just decides not to talk, because when basketball was in rocky's body, they could clearly talk

I knew why:

He seemed like a young contestant and was still learning, and he started to look up to people as an example.

For example:

Barfing because of pin when woody joined her team

No talking because of teardrop

Not really moving because of spongy

And he seemed friends with tennis ball as he said ‘hi tb my good old friend’

This was probably because tb wanted to find someone as smart as him and not as dumb as rocky so he found gb

This proves this because when tb told rocky to write on the quiz rocky kicked him

And when rocky was a team leader he picked tennis ball on his team by barfing on him just like pin did to woody

In my opinion the next episode should be character development about rocky

And my theory says rocky and tennis ball were best friends

I don't think this is right because Rocky still barfs in BFB but he spoke in BFB 12, albeit while Basketball was using his body. So I think he is capable of talking but he either chooses not to or lost the mental capacity to do so at some point while his vocal chords still work fine.

I think he ingested the IMG sometime in april 2010, preventing him from taking, as it created barf instead. I think BFDI 19 was just the matter generator failing.

Yea but i think of it as a different story: Announcer is annoyed of rockys sound so he put the machine in rockys mouth and he likes to keep it that way.

Ok but here’s the thing, Rocky is the only contestant we see with an “infinite matter generator”. other contestants don’t but can still talk. + in an episode tennis ball says that rocky forgot how to talk. :/

Actually, there’s two more clips when rocky talks, but they are REALLY hard to notice. The first one is when everyone in the TLC yells “CAKE AT STAKE”(teardrop talks in that clip too) and the second one is In BFB 14: Don’t dig straight down when BEEP grabs onto cloudy. Tell me if I missed any more

While that's a good point I have some criticism. If Rocky wasn't able to talk at all, how did Basketball talk in his body in episode 12? It would have to be something with his brain. I remember somebody, probably tb saying that Rocky forgot how to talk. That's probably just that.

TB confirmed that Rocky forgot how to talk in "Episode 4" (whether BFDI 1a and 1b count as two different episodes in-universe is up for debate, so it could be BFDI 3 or 4), and he presumably started barfing because of the machine in his throat, only communicating through a stock squeak he still makes to this day

Guys, basically it's because of that acid machine that was stuck inside his stomach, which kept him from talking and more barfing.
