As you can see, season 4 of the Sing Off had some amazing talent. The judges had their work cut out for them. And it seems like they all form some special friendships

I love the camaraderie these a cappella groups have! They really support each other. I forget which video it is but in one Adam Rupp is wearing a VoicePlay T- shirt. You gotta love it!!

It's impossible to watch "Just Sing" just once. "Daddy Sang Bass" when the families get together at the end and Geoff's face when he sees Kathy with their baby is so cute. ❤❤❤❤❤

I'm just going to go on a reverse timeline of the history of VoicePlay. As of like June 10th, the four members are Eli, J. None, Geoff, and Layne. Before that they of course had Earl as the fifth. About a year and a half before that, they had four because J. None hadn't joined yet. Two to three months before that is when Tony left. Tony and Eli joined the group in 2005 which is when they took the name VoicePlay. Before that the group was known as 4:2:five. The original members in 1997 were Geoff, Layne, Earl, Scott Porter, and Michael Kilgore.

When they were on the Sing Off in 2013, the same year as Home Free, they also had a female member named Honey LaRochelle (she was the middle of the three women doing the harmony in Just Sing). For some reason though, when the tour came around, she had to pull out. I believe she got her own solo opportunities. Emoni Wilkins filled in for her and performed with both VoicePlay and her own group at the time Ten. As for Rachel Potter, while never a member, she has probably performed more with VP than any other woman because of their shared experience working the theme park circuit in Orlando.

I love the caption when sings that last note -- SHOW OFF

The more you listen to them the easier it gets to pick out their voices. This particular song has more of a Home Free sound but their voices are smoother. Great to see all those singers who have been collaborating with or part of VoicePlay over the years. Fascinating to find out what else they've done.

One of my favorites.. Just sing... and it showcases so many of VP's excellent collabs!! Wasnt it fun seeing Tim Foust and Geoff together?? You need to watch the Sing Off to see some of these singers..and to see Honey Rochelle who sang with Voice Play on the Sing Off... and Sara and a few others... so much fun! .. Yes, they did sound like Home Free singing Daddy Sang Bass... .it was a country song from Johnny Cash originally I believe. sooo yeah.. serious country! ( Peter Hollens was on the Sing Off, too.. ages ago!)

VP is my favorite group of entertainers, and you have become one of my most favorite reactors!! Thank you for your fun reactions. You appreciate excellent talent, and you yourself are truly a shining light!!

It makes me a little sad watching this now, knowing it was Earl's last song with them. But it's so amazing, and I honestly don't think he could have picked a better "finale" song!

Great reaction to both songs. Doesn’t “Just Sing” make you feel good? If that doesn’t make you happy, nothing will. And it’s amazing to think that they are all collaborating from their homes, etc due to the pandemic.

Qofy Gang we need to all chip in and buy our fearless leader a lounger so these a cappella groups will stop breaking him.

My fav part... "Show off!" LOL!! You know Geoff had to have put that caption on there for Tim! I laffed my butt off with their interaction! 😆 They're good buddies. Season 4 of the Sing Off was pretty awesome with tons of talent as you can see, and these were only a few of them. The others were incredible too. No wonder they had some stellar creds! Your excitement is so contagious. I love it!! Another fun reaction!!

V.J.Rosales is with Filharmonic, an a cappella group that competed with Home Free & Voiceplay on The Sing Off. The Filharmonic competed directly with Home Free on the song "I'm Alright" from the movie Caddy Shack. It was the best performance of the season and a must see video. Be sure to watch the video by Mrduckbear11. ... Guy

Ah, man! I remember seeing this for the first time and I love it so much!! Watching you react, and you were overwhelmed is how I felt the first time! I love all of those voice together, and the young ones were so amazing, as well! I also love how Tim and Geoff glared at each other (in jest)! So funny! This is what I love about musicians, especially A Capella singers! It’s like they all support each other! Also, those beatboxer killed it, and the one that sang had an amazing voice! This is a total eargasm!! I enjoyed your reaction so much! This is my favorite of your reactions so far!!

A little about Daddy Sang Bass because I'm a huge Johnny Cash fan...

"Daddy Sang Bass" is a 1968 single written by Carl Perkins, with lines from the chorus of "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?" and recorded by Johnny Cash. "Daddy Sang Bass" was Johnny Cash's sixty-first release on the country chart. The song went to No. 1 on the Billboard country chart for 6 weeks and spent a total of 19 weeks on the chart. According to Johnny Cash's book, The Man in Black, the singer overcame his amphetamine-addiction by finding God, and then helped his friend and frequent tour-mate Carl Perkins to overcome his alcoholism. Feeling inspired, Perkins wrote the song, "Daddy Sang Bass" in 1967. Cash says the line, "Me and little brother will join right in there" was written about Cash's brother Jack, who died when they were both boys. -Wikipedia

From reading a few of Cash's books, I know the family had a small cotton farm that they struggled with and while they were in the field they would sing gospel songs. This is where Cash found his love for music.

It took me a little while to get to know Voice Play as well as I know other acapella bands. Geoff definitely has my attention. Thank you, QoFy for your attention to details in the music. Geoff and Tim Foust together??!!! Wow!!

Geoff was just showing off with that last low note on Daddy Sang Bass. They're just sitting with their families and casually drops it low. Definitely a Home Free vibe, which country/folk-ish is not usually my thing, but I really liked it here.

And the second song is just fun. Layne got you throwing your headphones though! He got you. Love what you said about singing though. MORE SINGING!!!
