Gil is continuing his solid pitching from July when he had a 3.33 ERA bouncing back from that June 6.45 ERA. Last 5 outings combined 27.3IP 20H 6R 10BB 36K. I'm so happy for this kid especially since he was coming off TJS. Like I'm I'm seeing from this young man.

68-46 overall. Even though LAA, TEX, CHW and DET on the schedule I'm not counting any wins early. At the end of the day these are all professionals and any team can beat any team at any given time. We've all seen it and I'm just not gonna take any team lightly despite their record. 48 games remaining and that means more work to be done. Let's take game 2 shortly.

y'don' see many double headers anymore...when I was younger, I'd got to double-headers rather than single games because there were so many more played in my day (1960s/70s)...my very first game (Mets- Astros) was a DH...and, yeah - I'm old - I remember when the Colt 45s (later renamed Astros when the then new Astrodome opened ca 1964) were in the National League...
