Peregrine Falcon Chicks upset when Dad shows up with no food! #shorts

These Peregrine Falcon Chicks were watching their dad (tiercel) fly around in front of the nest (eyrie). They weren’t very happy when he showed up with no food. Not sure what he was doing, but he seemed to be checking on his chicks and looking around. Maybe to see if his mate had recently fed them, or seeing if they had leftovers? What do you think? Shortly after this, mom flew in with food.

This video shows the size difference between the male and female chicks (eyases). Look at how much smaller the male (tiercel) is next to his two sisters. Male Peregrines are often referred to as the “tiercel” (meaning a third), because they tend to be a third smaller than females.

This “muppet” looking phase was my absolute favorite, especially those “pom-pom” legs! 😂 These Peregrine Falcon chicks were about four weeks old when I filmed this. During this awkward looking phase, their down feathers are being replaced by juvenile plumage.

🎉 Yay 🎉 Another video!!
Looks like one male and 2 females. The male looks like he has a partially filled crop. Wow, they were mad at Dad with no food! They look so vicious! 😂 They grow so fast! Two of the Peregrine nests I watch 3 fledged (1 male and 2 females) one nest and 4 fledged (1 male and 3 females) on the other.
Thank you so much for your magnificent videos!! They make my day! Take care🌷💞
