But it's one thing to unbox a device that's come straight from the manufacturer, and quite another to do the same with its carrier-branded variants. From branding to UI to bloatware to what comes bundled in the box, carriers hold a lot of sway when it comes to customizing their smartphones - and it's rare that we get to see those variants side by side in the same video.

Hence the purpose for today's exercise, which showcases the Verizon and AT&T versions of the G2 on the same desktop, alongside the global unlocked version from this morning's unboxing. Picked up the g2 from AT&T yesterday, is extremely nice to be able to use a 5.2 inch phone with one hand

The settings menu also varies between models. Verizon is somewhat standard vertical style, AT&T is grouped pages like the international variant.

The bloatware doesn't really bother me since I put most of the apps I used daily on my home screens. But like Michael said when they need updated it DOESN'T STOP!

ooh... i dont like the verizon version as much but thats the one im getting anyways lol. btw, the blue design around the lens is a sticker! :)

it's strange to see this....in the UK as far as I know the carriers dont really have any input to how the phone looks so they're pretty much always the same from carrier to carrier (apart form maybe a different colour back plate or something, but its rare) - but in the US it appears they do!

It can be changed in the settings on both models. There are about 5 or 6 different options.
