He sacrificed himself even though he was scared to die... thats tough

Daryll was afraid of dying for nothing. His growth is shown by his sacrifice of dying for a crucial maneuver that ended Naeus' life. Naeus is arguably one of the strongest beings in the series, beating Ceris (weakened by infernius) and turning the tides of multiple battles. So the fact that Daryll purged his fears and laid his life down so quickly is just beautiful. Good job Rain!

Rewatching it now, Darryl wasn't scared of dying. He was scared of dying for nothing. Then he made the sacrifice that took his life for his fellow comrades to retreat. Rest in peace Darryl, you will always be a hero.

That last second where the nether king stopped resisting and just looked at the airship. Absolutely nailed this scene.

Two things to notice:
1. at 4:05 We see Darryl standong out while in the background everyone are running away. Its ironic how he did not want to die and then made the ultimate sacrifice

2. in the last second the way nether king hopelessly stopped and looked at the airship was so heart breaking.

I don’t think Daryll was scared, I think he just didn’t want to die for nothing. If you pay attention, the frostborn were running away, yet Daryll stayed and did what needed to be done. Rip Daryll, you did good,
