JC's Road Trip - Living the Beach Life -- Hua Hin, Thailand Part 1

This oldest and most traditional Thai resort combines the attractions of a modern holiday destination with the charm and fascination of a still active fishing port.
And while most other Thailand holiday destinations cater mainly to foreign tourists, Hua Hin is a holiday resort for both foreigners and Thais.
The resort was discovered in the early 1920s by King Rama VII as an ideal getaway from the sultry metropolis of Bangkok. The tranquil fishing village was turned into the Royal resort and consequently became popular among Siam's nobility and upper-class.
The construction of a railway line from Bangkok locked in its accessibility and popularity the Thai public.
In 1928, King Rama VII built Klai Kangwon (Far From Worries) Palace which remains to this day an official royal residence. It is still frequently used by members of the royal family and is open to the public for visits.

So happy to show for all those wanting to live in Thailand how easy it is to get by even speaking crappy Thai. Thanks for helping out the viewers to realize how easy it is for the Thais to understand even the way I speak.

I lived in HH for 9 years and JC did a good job here.I went back last Sept and couldnt believe the amount of construction going on.Carefull renting a motor bike without a Thai licence, the ever resorceful police now have road blocks everywhere.400 bht fine, even with an international licence if they are having a slow day. Also cracking down on drink driving 24hrs a day.
The public beach basically runs from Soi 51 south, however you can acess it just before the Hilton and walk down 4 mls to Koh Takiab and beyond, very nice quiet and clean up there.
Lastly the kings been ill for a few years now and is in hospital in BBk I believe.
Best weather from Nov on to Apr

the most popular entrance to the public beach area in hua hin is around the corner of centara grand resort, since its jc's first time in hua hin, it might take him sometime to get used to the place, the actual public beach area in hua hin is actually quite big

I really enjoy your videos, mainly because you seem like a genuinely nice person, unlike some expat vloggers who are complete creeps.

Thanks for the vid JC. I have a friend that has lived in Thailand for over 30 years. He speaks fluent Thai and being human like you he makes the odd mistake. I only wish that my Thai was a good as yours and my friend Lorry. Keep up the good work, Max.

Hey Jim, Type in the correct Thai letters into Google translate (if you can't read the Thai) and listen. The sounds are very subtle and really they cannot even be written in English correctly.
I am just so happy that there are so many other YouTube channels for you to watch where they speak the way you like to hear.
