Darkorbit Unity Beta - Basic gameplay and some thoughts

I'm showcasing the Darkorbit unity client which has launched it's beta 3 days ago. Nothing is happening really, no players are really around and no big fights are happening, but I talk a bit about the game. Yeah.

Dark orbit refusal to embrace progress is the reason I moved to elite dangerous, better population less bots, actual good experience, both visual and acoustic, better navigation, grind less repetitive..

Darkorbit walked so ED could run, it was a good game back in 2010 but now it's completely outdated I fear...

it's good to see that you had no fps drop with all the additional npc's on the map from the prots... the current client sucks when additional activity enters the screen

Absolutely banger video! Even tho I don't play this game anymore, its interesting to see where it is going. If the devs goes all in with this update, this game can make a huge comeback.

Ofc it will have plenty of bugs. But can this "engine change" fix even some of the existing bugs which have disrupted the gameplay for tens of years?

It is such a old game. But if we keep expectations low, there is no way Bigpoint can disappoint us even more...

Imagine they are doing it on unity instead html5, which is way better and better optimized, it also gives way much options to upgrade game itself. Why should i even be surprised if its bigpoint?

I really wish this game took itself in a better direction. Till this day I believe this game could have been so much bigger and well received if the devs took care of the bots and made the game less reliant on shelling out on mega happy hour days....

man, if they add some story mode like for certain maps or worlds, and the player could do some fps missions that would be awesome. Or be able to zoom in the ship like a cockpit view.

Good video but you completely ommited 2D. I can't play in 3d, it looks horrible to me, 2D is king (maybe its just og player bias). Follow up perhaps?
