It happened to me. They sent me a fake $10, 000 check so that I could order a new iBook and a printer from a “trusty third party distributor.” It was all hella fishy. The person also wanted me to deposit the check via ATM and to not go with a bank teller.

I didn’t trust the person so I went with the bank tell and said that I think this check is fake, could you please verify. And yup it was a fake check.

Yes I fell for this! Never again, I caught it at the interview though. They never let me hear their real voice or let me see their face. When I questioned them about that. They disconnected and then sent me an email apologizing and offering me the job. I reported then it was a job lead from LinkedIn.

Luckily for me I usually can figure out a scam right away. Always research he company. Any interviews done on WhatsApp or telegram is automatically a scam. Any job offering a high amount of money for basic work I question. Interviews without actual seeing the interviewer's face or hearing a voice. Any job asking you for money in advance I question. Or a job that sends you a check right away, you should question.

How do you verify it’s legitimate? I saw one guy on the news who got scammed, they sent him job equipment and had him do “work”. He didn’t know he was scammed until it was time for his first pay check

Yea I’ve been in the food industry for almost a decade . Working 12hr shifts on my feet no breaks. I’m tired I’m only 25 and I’m tired lol so I got back in school and looking to change careers. Got a call back from a data entry company, going to be a huge pay cut but I know it will be good experience on my resume . Hope it’s not a scam

Literally just ran into this. As i was looking for tips on how to do the job as I was nervous your vid came up and helped me solidify my worries. The interview was over Microsoft teams text and immediate hire. Also asked about Credit card history/ score (I just said I don't have a score) also at the end they need my contact info ( they should laready have) and SSN which is already a deal breaker no matter what with any other flags showing up.

Yep! Just realized a company claiming to be Amazon data entry. Applied and got an email asking me to sign up for college loans😑

Yes, I fell for this in January. Worked for one month and when it was time to pay me, I could not log into the company system for them to pay me.

I actually get texts stating they want me to interview for data entry positions that I never applied for. I keep up with every job I apply for and I always research the company. The name of the company they provide in their texts NEVER check out when I research that company.
