East Texas Solar Farm Contamination

State officials have issued a notice of violation to the operators of a large solar farm in north East Texas. They’re accused of contaminating creeks and rivers in violation of state rules. Spectrum News1 featured the solar company in a special report last year and now, neighboring landowners who opposed the project are saying… “we told you so”.

Worked for a solar company, they’re in it for the grants.

Developers don't care. It's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. ALWAYS HAS BEEN.

We can not destroy the environment in order to save the environment! This is not the way.

Destroying forest and replacing it with solar farms is the ultimate in stupidity.

20 years ago the same people were fighting de-forestation.

Have all these "environmentalists" forgotten the impact on air quality when you get rid of the trees? It's okay to yell about destroying the forests when it happens in South America but in our country it's "progress".

When those panels are disposed, we shall be covered with billion tons of toxic materials! DeepState ROCKS!

Most of this green crap isn't environmentally friendly.

With the tremendous amount of scrub land, I see no reason why farmland or woodslands need to be violated for solar or wind

should be a law that for every one tree cut down, 5 more trees have to be planted to replace what was cut down.

The crazy part about this, is the fact that if this were a pipeline project, all of that soil being displaced and the other environmental impacts, wouldn’t be acceptable in any way shape or form…

Funny how “ GREEN ENERGY” is everything but that .

They should be sticking those solar panels in the Texas desert.

Imagine that solar sites being so destructive. I am sure they thought about it before they moved forward…….. NOT FOR A SECOND ITS ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY. So sad.

Have one going up next to my property, same thing, my creeks are now crap, wildlife is blown out, we spent years and 10's of thousands managing that land for wildlife, deer, turkey, ponds and creeks full of bass, bream and catfish, now we have mud, dust, noise, unsightly industrial power plant (solar panels array) the only thing left is hogs and coyotes and the coyotes are even beginning to move off as their is no longer any small game for them to prey on.

My question is who is going to pay to clean up my land after the first major hail storm passes through, destroys all of those solar panels and the contaminants from the material used to make the panels runs off into the creeks and onto my land.

This is a joke, this isn't saving the earth its destroying it.

I’m glad I’m an old man and have only a few years left to witness this environmental destructive insanity… I’m also an outdoorsman and over the years I’ve come to the understanding that all life matters and not just human life…

Disgusting. The sick part is practically every development project does this! Lakes and ponds in my area are being turned a muddy brown JUST LIKE THIS. Its from clearing and grading all the farmland and woodland to build housing developments (most are speculative, btw). No one seems to care, or more likely they just feel powerless to stop the machine of big business married with local governments who are perpetrating this.

This hurts my heart. We moved to North East Texas 2 and a half years ago and it’s beautiful country. The farms and ranches around here respect the land and we don’t need this destruction of the land in the name of the god of renewable energy.
