IN WHICH our intrepid recreatrix finally finishes her 12th century bliaut, with a modern twist! Have you ever wondered what would happen in you crossed the fashion of the 1160s with the 1960s? It may seem like that's what I am doing here but I promise this is alllll medieval.

“Fraying like my nerves under end-stage capitalism” is such a brilliant turn of phrase, hope you don’t mind if I borrow that 🤣

Can we talk about how you literally have hair straight out of a 12thC manuscript? Totally unfair 😛

IS there anything more satisfying than taking a fail and making it a win? No, I don't think there is. Good for you for persevering! And the result is great 😁

PS, I finished a stola per your instructions last month, and it's fast become one of my favorite everyday looks. Thanks for the inspiration! Its only flaw...lack of pockets. 😔

Oh I remember seeing that fraying on IG -- what a bummer it is when a fabric just will not behave. But I really like the second fabric, maybe even more than the first! (Also, YT appears to have eaten your discord link, just so's you know.)

Well done. I don't have much to say except I always enjoy watching your processes and explanations.

I love how it turned out! My sympathies for the fabric hassle. Are you able to do anything at all with the silk or is it just too fray-prone?

"fraying like end-stage capitalism'" is my new favorite comparison.

Getting out of that tight dress when you have pinned it to get the right fit for the side seems The struggle is real. The wiggle and the facial expressions. I have done it all. 🤣🤣🤣
Great result. It looks modern and medieval all in one,

watching with subtitles: [record screech] "And that's where it all fell apart." comes while you calmly set in the neckline while lovely music is playing... That made me giggeling and kept my tension rising, so I stopped the video to boost the algorithm.

That's turned out fabulous. And you look stunning in it.
Giggled at the garment adjustment wriggle.
I know I said on IG that its on my to do list, I'm Pagan Rhi on there btw. Now I've seen it in full glory I'd have to make major adjustments (like not fitted and flaring the skirt section) So its going to be more Inspired by than a copy of in different materials.
I keep forgetting how long your gorgeous hair is as don't often see it down.

It turned out beautifully. That blue sari silk is gorgeous and the whole outfit looks wonderful on you. I applaud your persistence in the face of obstinate material. Take care.

Oh, but now I want to know why you love the 12th century so much and in what way it differs from the previous and following century.

it turned out beautiful. I would love to see a blue or peach (like the undergarnment) colored belt with it.

I guess the fabric of the sari is too delicate for a long girdle.

I chuckled at realizing who "Tornado" is. I have a "Cannonball." 😅

Love the dress and love that you can get in and out without fastenings, unfortunately, I doubt I’ll be able to make something that tight without having to lace up the sides or something! I’m a bit too ‘blessed’ in the bust area for that!😂😂😂

THIS. All of this! Thank you for again showing the whole process and talking about the decision-making. The bliaut is beautiful. And the starry background was so much fun, too.

I would love to this in 1960's mode: white knee high leather boots and all the other trimmings!
