1 killed when 18 wheeler ran red light, hitting truck: Fort Bend officials

One person is dead after a crash involving an 18-wheeler at FM 1093 and FM 359 in the Fulshear area on Tuesday morning.

That driver that passed away, worked down the road on 359. I'm the operator to that site, and he was a very hard working man, family oriented. I'm still shocked that one day i saw him and the following days he's gone. Rest in Peace🙏🏼

As a motorcycle rider, I ALWAYS check to see if trucks will "barrel through" a red light before I cross.
I don't care if I'm in the right if I get run over...
It's a darn shame.

Ppl even if you get a green lite take a second to see if someone is trying to beat the lite. I'm 100% sure the lite changed as the truck was approaching and he couldn't stop. We hv to be more careful. R.I.p to whom ever was killed. As far as the truck driver its a wrap for him hope his paperwork was in order.

I try to look both ways. When The Light changes. Sometimes, People can not see due to the vehicle in front. Sometimes, People can not stop. They get caught with the light changing.

I drove past that and was jaw dropped at the extent of damage. I saw the mangled truck on the flatbed. Looked like it was a sedan but it was folded and twisted. So sad.

Trucks and cars drive 65-70 mph on 1093 when the speed limit is 50. Accidents all the time on that road.

There are a lot of running red lights vehicles in Fort Bend County but police did not work or patrol. Therefore, more accidents.
