I really wish my videos weren't honest... I could make so much money pushing crap on y'all. You won't believe how many times I have to refuse making a video and not taking a payment because the products are just not good enough to warrant being shown to you. In this case I HAD to make a video that should serve as a warning.

I found you after seeing TheGuitarGeek channel who REFUSED to review this horrible toy after reading the company email that followed him receiving the toy. He was unable to tell us the name of this toy for liability reasons and if you watch his channel that is titled something about being threatened by legal action, you will understand. The hard part about YouTube is finding reviewers who are not "product prostitutes" that get paid to review and report only positive responses. As soon as TheGuitarGeek read the threatening email that openly said that if he said anything negative and their toy lost money, they would sue him. Not in those words, but it was clear enough. What a sad, sad way to introduce your product. I appreciate that you gave it an honest try and with your integrity intact, Subscribed! I hope this $hit company does not try to sue to for telling the truth!

I love this video!!! So honest and so funny. Being a guitarist for 36 years made this video particularly comical! You're right, it's very simple: just get a very inexpensive nylon string and progress from there. :)

I really appreciate your honesty and integrity! As a beginner myself, I see so many new products and lesson apps promising what they clearly can’t deliver but I can totally understand how someone could be taken in. I may be off base, again as a guitar newb, but I think there can be fine line between products that do smooth the path and those that just taken advantage of beginners’ insecurity and frustration for a fast buck.

It's worse than not being a way into playing a real guitar - it will teach you a bunch of things you would have to unlearn if you wanted to go on to play a real guitar.

When will people understand that there is no shortcut to learning how to play an instrument?

I saw a drum video, where the creator advised using heavier drumsticks for practice than you would for a show. He said it was like swinging an extra bat for warmup.

I talked to my personal instructor about it and he said "no, as a musician, you want to practice on the exact same setup you play on, or as close to you can get it", because you want your muscle memory to be locked into what you're going to be playing on stage.

I would assume the same holds true to guitar. Like, if you're going to be primarily playing an electric guitar, and sometimes an acoustic, then practice on those types of guitars, with the action where you will normally have it, using the same gauge strings, etc...

These kinds of products can possibly do more damage to learning, than good.

Remember, practice makes permanent. Only perfect practice makes perfect.
