Even more so, say "gotta" I really gotta finish my essay. Do you really "gotta" leave? Instead of got to. It's improper English but most of it is when you're speaking casually.

Also "gonna" instead of "going to", "imma" instead of "im going to", and "wanna" instead of "want to"

That's not "American"... That's a dialect in America. Maybe Southern? But it's not just "American". I'd say "have to" and I'm an English language speaking American. But more than likely I'd say "need to" instead.

I can tell you as an iowan in america, thats called a speech impediment and nobody here speaks like that
