Today I'm testing out the Dash Multi-Plate Mini Maker that creates mini waffles with various designs. While I thought it worked, the price and cook time left something to be desired.

I think if I were to want something with interchangeable plates I’d want it to be waffles, mini donuts, cake pops, mini cakes. That would be a great appliance to have!

After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that nothing in this world is worth fifty dollars.

In a month you can buy it Good Will for $5.99.

I have the Dash large 4 waffle maker, it works great and I have no complaints. I got in on black Friday for just under $30. This is cute and all, but there is no way I would spend $50+ on this.

I just LOVE how nothing has on or off or temperature control anymore.

For $50 I'm going to need a full sized waffle.

Generally speaking, the first one will always take the longest to cook. Sometime I make 2 loaves of bread and the second one always takes a shorter time than the first. This is true with cookies too. It takes a while for the entire mass of the thing (as opposed to just the plates) to heat up and stabilize. When you make them one of after the other, the cooker doesn't have time to cool back down entirely.

For a special occasion, you can make them ahead of time and freeze them. Then, the day of the event just pop them in the toaster.

I did a quick Google search and Dash sells each design of waffle maker as a nonremovable plate version for $10 or various themed sets of 3 for $30 on their website.

I've seen different seasonal dash waffle makers at thrift stores, always in the $3 to $7 range. You could buy an assortment of waffle makers for about the same cost (or less), and make multiple waffles at the same time. Storage would be your biggest issue.

My Costco has them for $23.99... A much more reasonable price!

I got the spring version of the multi-plate for $29.99 at costco - it takes me about 2 minutes per waffle which expedites things, and if you aren't changing plates there is no reheat time. My partner and I really get a kick out of the different plates/ think it is very cute so its worth it to us! It is annoying that you cannot by most of the different plates individually, but rather they only come sold with another waffle maker which we don't need

I got mine at a local thrift store for about 4 bucks and used it for the first time last weekend. It worked PERFECTLY. It doesn't have the fancy interchangeable plates, but I'm single with no kids, so that's ok. I may invest in the winter set on Dash's website soon. I don't know how long mine cooked exactly, but I was always taught they're done when you don't see anymore steam. Next time, I'll time it and see how long that is. 😁

I saw DASH waffle maker & thought it was gonna be a 12 volt automotive accessory. "My Disappointment Is Immeasurable And My Day Is Ruined." 😂

James, you have the perfect banter for these reviews. As always, a great review, for a product I won’t buy.

The thing I like about this is the removable plates. Cleaning is the biggest issue with the cheap model. Removing the plates to be able to actually clean them well would be great.

I own the reg Dash Mini Waffle Maker, and since its just me I saw no sense in getting the special designs one. Today I watched just out of curiosity to see what they would look like. Anyways, I only make about a cup's worth of batter & make as many it makes. I freeze whatever I don't eat for the next time. I think its great for those who are single like myself OR for those with children; but a bigger standard waffle maker would be best for those with larger families. IMO

BTW: I also got mine from WM for $8.98 + tax for my BD in Sept.

I'm not sure the different plates would be worth the price for me, but my mini dash regular waffle maker gets pretty hot from the steam and I have to use an oven mitt

I literally have the same one with halloween plates on it, that I paid $5 this year in homegoods.
