My first foray into electronica came in 1978 at age 19 when I purchased Fripp and Eno's No Pussyfooting'. Had to leave high school behind and it's limited musical influence in the rear view mirror to truly explore. Bought that album in Petaluma, California after hitch hiking there from Ontario, Canada. Years later back home in Canada in BC I find Loscil's music inimitable to the BC landscape and how I feel when I drive some of these highways and look out into the never ending wilderness of Northern British Columbia. Loscil is deeply influenced by this same natural environment-particularly the coast shore.

The music is very evocative for me as a poet.
I hear them as sound paintings.
The reverberation of gongs across gneiss;
