This is so pretty, Joie. The painted leaves really bring the pops of colour in the collage together and create a great finish. I enjoy this series and would definitely like you to continue with it. Some of my favorite book finds are art history, music, geographical, botanical, cookbooks, and technical journals. What a lovely floral book you found! I’ve been beefing up my stash of old books by shopping at local thrift stores. I found some old music books and magazines, but the best find of all was a 1910 copy of a German book; the font is simply amazing and it’s my new favorite and go-to for book page. Love the guidelines that you prepare too; they do provide a helpful reference for me, so thanks for that, Joie!

Hi Joie, absolutely love the page you created. The colours you used are stunning and everything works so well together. Love the bugs you chose! The step by step guidelines are very helpful and a reminder to do various layers. I have plenty of old books that I can use of my own and only recently started to do so! I'm trying very hard not to buy stuff but use what I've got and recycle from home. Encyclopedias seem to be obsolete now days as most of the information is completely dated! Hi everyone, I have a little tip for those of us on a budget, many generous crofters offer free printables, and I have discovered that my local library will print an a4 colour sheet for just 10p. Saves a lot of money on ink, paper and a printer. It's also a good way to support my local library especially now we are opening up again. There are also some great botanical available on Pinterest which you could use. Thank you Joie for helping me find some calm relaxation in the evenings, I absolutely love making glue book pages. Your topic made me laugh-- years ago our Artists' guild had monthly theme challenges--to keep us painting between meetings--and one month the theme was "bugs"--of course we got lot of bugs in the literal sense/insects--but we also got a fantastic painting of a street lined with VW Bugs of all colors; a large, loose and beautiful portrait of The Beatles; a cartoon/caricature of someone's pet peeves ("that really BUGS me!"); and a vintage-y watercolor of spies in dark suits, wearing hats, on the phone (a la Cagney and Brando)--the "phones were bugged"... Creativity is a wonderful thing. 😎. Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane 🤗
