How To Get The RAREST Items In Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is a deceptively vast game. There are so many items, hats, recipes and events that it can be pretty hard to keep track and obtain everything. SO, in no particular order, here is my full guide to collecting the 9 rarest items in Stardew Valley

I remember my first ever Feast of the Winter Star, I was given the tea set. I had no clue it was rare and it set up some very unrealistic expectations for future gifts. Only to be disappointed EVERY YEAR AFTER.

There's an easy way to get the autopetter if you don't mind quitting and reloading loads of times.

Get 100 staircases
Go to the skull cavern and use the staircases to get to floor 100.
There's always a chest on this floor. If it doesn't contain an autopetter, quite out, reload your save and try again.
Repeat until you get one.

I recently got the living hat while chopping weeds in the mines. I didn't even notice I had gotten it until the end of the day because I was just trying to get a lot of weeds for crafting. After over 1000 hours, I finally have the living hat and it made me SO happy. 🎉

I have never gotten an Auto Petter from the Skull Caverns, but I have gotten several (might even be 5) from the Dangerous Mines from the Slimes.
Dino Eggs I have gotten from the Artifact Spots a few times, but they also drop from Pepper Rex and I have gotten several from them (each game).
The Hats... I get Garbage Hats frequently (multiple in each game), I have never gotten the Mushroom Hat or the Living Hat. I have just gotten the Leprechaun Shoes once too.
I have gotten the Tea Set once (on my first game, in the first year). I doubt I have ever even seen the Ossified Blade or the Work Boots because I didn't know they were rare.

you can cheese a living hat by letting your island farm become overrun w weeds, scythe or blow them all up, and if you don't get it, reset the day and try again (you may want to try sleeping to the next day if it's just not happening that day)

I get the garbage hat EVERY save file I have. One even has 3 of them. I had no idea it was considered a rare item. On the other hand I haven't ONCE gotten the living hat. 😭

I managed two living hats in one save file. One from my farm and another clearing weeds in front of Leo's house on my first day on the island. I had ridiculous luck in that game, must have had a really lucky seed at the start.

My second ever skull cavern run was super optimized. Watched videos, planned out what to do, setup my inventory the night before. I made it to floor 99 and died but I did land an autopetter and just threw it in a chest for a while not knowing how rare it was

OMG! I got my first and only living hat on DAY 1 of one of my save files just recently!! i was so happy!

Crazily enough I got the trash hat my first solo playthrough before the end of my first spring. Honestly I couldn't believe it, I had seen it in stardew memes but wasn't trying for it.

I've never gotten an auto-petter! So mad at getting hats and seeds in Skull Cavern! No living hat. No ossified blade. No work boots. No tea set.

Magic Rock Candy is a museum collection reward. Not so hard to get one.

Lol, I got the work boots yesterday and I threw them out since I thought they were ugly, they didn't match my outfit either. I also, in past saves I've lost, gotten the garbage hat and the living hat. Shame my saves were deleted. x-x

Another guaranteed way to get an auto-petter is from golden mystery boxes. This is where stardew predictor comes in handy especially if you have a lot of unopened regular mystery boxes. You just need to count how many regular boxes you need to open until the next golden mystery box will be an auto-petter and then open one.
