He's acting really well. When he saw the boy running out, the look on his face showed nostalgia. His lips curled up showing pride that he grew up. It's like a father who hasn't seen his son in a long time and really misses him a lot.

Such a sad scene looking back. The movie hinted that he had a gambling problem, and probably a drinking problem as well, which is more than likely what led to his divorce, but it was still sad that she never let him see his son, until he gave such a huge sacrifice.

It's sad that everyone thinks that all Michael Bay films are nothing more than exploding gas stations and mindless carnage. Con Air, The Rock, Armageddon all have some very touching scenes. This one is a classic.

I'm not an emotional person, but this situation in the movie is one that scratched very deep. How may years passed since the movie published? 20? 25?... still hit the same way. I love that "mommy that salesman is on tv" moment.

The way he delivered his apology to her felt so genuine like it came from a very deep and sad part of his heart. I felt that down to my very soul, as I'm current dealing with a crappy similar situation (no asteroid include or any kind of Armageddon). This character hits home now that I'm 40.
