Years ago my dad need to go the hospital (heart condition), but he had red jello shortly before we had to call the ambulance. On the gurney, across the lawn, dad was able to roll enough to hurl over the side of the gurney. Yep - BRB - bright red barf. The EMS guys nearly had a heart attack, but had presence of mind to ask my mom if he ate anything red today. Their relief was palpable. Dad was fine after a couple of days inpatient.

A few years ago my dad (retired fireman) told me he started peeing blood (chuckling it took him over 60 years to have a period). I told him to call the nearest hospital and FAST! He was examined and had the tumor in his bladder shaved off within the same month. He thanked me for forcing him to check it out. It was an aggressive cancerous tumour in his bladder. It was caught really early and he’s now healthy. Now he’s told all his friends about this and he’s helped save 2 men already.

Important to remember: Blood in your poo can both be red OR black depending on where the internal bleeding came from and how long it's been in your intestine :)

I had a similar situation happen. I remember when I was substitute teaching, and I had just started a juice cleanse. I didn’t know what beets would do to my poop and thought I was dying for a solid hour before I goggled it and realized what was happening!! NEVER AGAIN! Side note: I am a member of the Coffee of the Month Club (two bags a month), and my wife and I love it!

An important thing to remember; for blood in stool, if you see red blood, it isn’t internal bleeding, it is far closer to the spinster and could even be a hemorrhoid.

Now, if your stool is *BLACK, * then that means there is internal bleeding and you need to go to the hospital ASAP. The first case you need a doctor for medical aid, and the second case it’s a medical emergency.

Remember, seeing blood is never a good thing!
