honestly, if they make a subnautica movie, the cyclops will have to be destroyed, but in the saddest yet epic amazingly tense way possible, simply because it's a powerful moment to remind the player that they just don't have what it takes to defeat a leviathan. also, the music is too good

I guess I should probably clarify that I meant we cant use the cyclops to take on a leviathan, even though it makes us feel like we can.

A multiplayer would’ve elevated this game so much. Imagine having someone else onboard with you during this! Would be epic and way easier to manage

Man its the little things that make this game so great, and being in a cyclops under attack is the perfect example. You really get that 20, 000 leagues under the sea vibe from it as something otherwordly roars outside and shakes the whole vehicle. Not to mention the music, the ship's constant damage alerts, the smoke filling the interior, fires raging, and the actual effort it takes to move around your sub. Im pretty sure the hatches work too, so if youre in a really bad spot with flooding in one area you can just seal hatches to do damage control to limp to a safer area.

Really showed the devs cared about this game, I need to play it again.

Honestly what scared me more than the reaper is that your pda can actually run out of space for pictures

Pilot tips for anyone in this situation:
1) Immediately go to silent when a reaper shows up on radar.
2) Hull integrity > fire or anything else. Exit, stasis the reaper, and patch up some holes.

3) Decoys are your best friend for getting away.

Should've hit silent run and ascended into the surface at the lowest possible speed, full speed will rarely save you... leviarhans usually "lose the interest" after hitting you once, this is the window of oportunityyou have to go silent and slowly espace their hunring ground... full speed will only make them pursue you, ans if they do, yoi'll die either from engine overheat or the leviathan outrunning you...

The saddest and most exciting time I ever had in the game. I was under attack by a Ghost Leviathan at the underwater river. Tried to save the boat, but when the countdown started I ran to the prawn and dropped out of the ship. As I fell, I looked up and saw the GL almost wrapped around my cyclops like a snake, and then BOOM. I yelled

What's amazing is how scary the leviathans are, compared to the fact that I've never died or lost a vehicle to one. There's just some kind of genetic memory of being terrified of a big predator hunting you.

Ok this was a while ago, and it’s nice to see people still enjoy this, just note that while yes I destroyed the cyclops on purpose, the prawn suit countdown, being dehydrated, and reaper coming in to bite my balls at the same time the ship exploded wasn’t planned this was all in one go just thought it was funny.

I love how the Cyclops becomes a wreck when it explodes instead of just exploding and disappearing. These are the things that make Subnautica a great game. Apart from all the other things that make Subnautica a great game!

The Cyclops needs an escape pod, especially with how expensive it is to make. You see a leviathan, you punch the jettison button/lever and get fired far away. Maybe it could be a pseudo-vehicle or full vehicle, like how you can attach a prawn suit to the seatruck. Of course, you couldn't enter the prawn suit from inside the seatruck, but it was still cool
