Saying Cleopatra was a black woman is like calling Jada Pinkett Smith a loving wife

This is as faithful to history as Jada is to her husband.

I've always wondered why Black Americans are so eager to turn historical or non-historical characters into their own skin tone? Where I am from Japan, we never had the urge to turn Santa Claus into Asian. Even Ronald McDonald in Japan retains the looks from original source.

I am Egyptian, and I’m deeply offended by the deliberate misrepresentation of my country’s history by this Netflix so-called “docuseries”. It’s no different than when black folk object to deliberate “whitewashing” or any other deliberate misrepresentation of their history. Just because you don’t have a history or don’t care about it if you have it, doesn’t mean that others have to devalue their own heritage and let self-entitled revisionists make a mockery of it.

I did not think Rotten Tomatoes scores could go that low. Thank you Jada for proving how wrong I was.

Parents will have to keep an eye out and be sure they aren't trying to show this in schools. These things may fail in public but they'll still try and push this crap on kids.

With the whole Cleopatra thing, there's been one Daniel Tosh joke that's been on my mind non-stop:
"Wait, Egypt's in Africa? But they're White! Well, not White, but also you know, not black."

Truth.
It hurts.
Especially to "woke" "people".

People aren't tuning out of superhero movies. Studios stopped making superhero movies, and started making gurlboss, misandry movies instead while CALLING them superhero movies.

Huge difference

Netflix's woke Cleopatra has a 1.1% audience rating. There was an empress of Kush they could have made a documentary about. She was black and managed to stop the Romans dead in their tracks. As a bonus she wore a gold eye patch with diamonds inlaid in it and looked badass.

I cancelled my streaming services when about the time I saw the ad for Anne Boelyn as I am huge history buff.
It was when I saw Lost Kingdom about Viking and British wars, colonisation 800AD+ and so on that I was extremely interested in and near the end, a castle was being besieged and they said: Reinforcements have arrived: Haraaaah.
and about 20 black men in armor walked through the gates. I was: /palm to forehead - delete.

The only way we can ever forgive Netflix is if they give us next GI Jane starring Jada Pinkett Smith.

The actress saying she's "humanizing" Cleopatra because she's black, does that mean she's saying that only blacks are human? The Klan isn't that racist. Perhaps the Egyptians, who have rather interesting laws to prevent cultural appropriation, and should be filing charges against writers, director, producers and "talent", to be paid on delivery to any Egyptian embassy.

These actresses need to be careful. These woke directors will ruin their acting careers.

Imagine YOU having to pay these people so they can show you their propaganda

“Why are they focusing on Cleopatra?”
Maybe because it’s *about* Cleopatra

Can you imagine if this was the other way around?

"... but I think that have every right to have a shot at humanizing this incredible woman."

What exactly is that actress saying - is she saying the original portrayal was portrayed by someone subhuman (because you only humanize someone when he/she is portrayed as someone negatively), or somehow even FURTHER insulting the Egyptian population by saying any historical portrayal isn't "human" enough until she PERSONALLY represents someone Egyptian in history? Can someone please translate, because that final sentence just doesn't make sense?
