Wait, the Hero of Time wasn’t even remembered for his deeds?

Damn.

Not to mention, Link never even asked for any of this. He never asked to be a hero, he was just sent off on a prophecy he had no say in.

There are 13 different Zeldas, 12 different Links and 3 different Ganondorfs.

When i was a child i was kinda lore obcessed with Oot and i cried so hard seeing all those angst fanart on internet making me realize just how How much Link sacrificed and was taken from and then after hyrule, termina living and fighting all griefs and devine nightmares and only to die a forgotten hero before the twilight. Its is not fair he deserved better, the only solace is that he is finally at rest.

One of my favorite videos on the Internet is the video every Zelda is the darkest Zelda. If you ask me, the entire series is just tragedy, but despite that there’s always a feeling of hope and pushing forward to the end, it’s why I love it so much.

It's also tragic that in every timeline split, his actions had almost no real impact until the next Link came along. In the Wind Waker, Ganon breaks out a bit after his sealing and Hyrule is washed away. In TP, Ganondorf's execution didn't go as planned. And in ALttP, he dies.

Samus had a pretty rough life to. She was also an orphan. Ridley murdered her parents right in front of her.

Also he’s already mature from going through so much stressful and traumatizing stuff that he can’t just go back to being a regular child.

Living with all those memories. Those heroic events, all the lives he saved… Just to only be remembered by him and him alone. Definitely tragic

Count Bleck is a pretty tragic Nintendo Character in Super Paper Mario.

Lucas was literally just an ordinary kid who lived on an island with his family. But then most of the island’s wildlife gets mechanized including one of the friendly Dragos went from peaceful, to an angry robotic monster which is how Hinawa (Lucas’s mom) dies. Claus (Lucas’s twin brother) wanted to go and stop the Drago, but was captured along the way by Porky, the mastermind behind all of this. Three years pass, Claus was still nowhere to be seen, nothing else tragic really happens until the end where you learn the mysterious Masked Man (An opponent you met on your journey) was Claus all along but brainwashed, and by the time he learned who he really was, he decided to unalive himself because he saw all of the suffering he caused to Lucas and his friends (And especially his dad)

…This entire thing could’ve been in another short lmao

Before the golden age of Luigi, I'd give it to Luigi. Man was disrespected everywhere until people finally realized he was the best damn thing to exist.

Olimar has got to be decently high for Nintendo Characters atleast. He keeps crashing on a dangerous planet where he doesnt know if he will keave it alive for months at a time, he works for a crappy company and his co worker is a physcopath and his boss is a greedy scum bag, and the only brightness in his life is his family which he barley sees due to PNF-404 and work.

The other thing is that this guy keeps getting resurrected to fight evil. Even though he doesn’t remember his past lives, it’s pretty bad. Some random guy, usually a kid, has to fight a literal demon lord, all because he’s somehow related to the last guy who did it.

There is also Noah from Xenoblade 3 who was living an endless cycle of fighting the oppressive system just to die over and over again for one reason or another, either giving up and running away with his loved one or simply failing the overwhelming power. It happened so much that one version of himself gives up entirely to become the villain and loses sight of everything. Tbf any Xenoblade protagonist fits this like the walking corpse or an orphaned salvager whos dreams get completely crushed after a world that constantly mocked his dream while losing his father figure and his friends.

Can I just say that the fact that people don’t know Lucas’ story is criminal. Nintendo could legit just translate the game and release the best story they’ve ever made like that and yet they don’t for no conceivable reason.

Once again piracy stays winning.

To be fair, it's implied that the hero of time leaves Termina and lives a normal life in Hyrule but in a time of peace where his decendents never really have a reason to learn or remember his sword arts.

I think the worst part is that he was forced to grow up so quickly due to aging up and his adventure in general, the owl even says in the spirit temple that Link has basically grown up by that point out of necessity. Then after getting used to being an adult, he gets shoved back into a child's body. If I were Link I would definitely have some like, idk age dysmorphia or something
