Biblical Comfort for those who Mourn

The death of a loved one is something that we all face at some point in our life, and I want to talk about what the Bible says about the comfort for those who mourn.

Five years ago when my uncle passed away, I went to his funeral and heard the preacher say that my uncle was now in heaven walking the streets of gold, playing a harp and singing with the angels, and smiling at us as he was looking down upon us. He told us that my uncle was in a better place and that we shouldn’t be sad.

That preacher’s statement caused me to ask myself, “where is that in the Bible?” I wanted to know the truth about death and I began to really dig into the Scriptures to find out what the Bible says about what happens after we die.

Later that same year my grandfather passed away, and I was asked to speak at His funeral. I wanted to speak the truth of Scripture, so I never said anything about my grandfather being in heaven. I shared with them what the Bible actually says about life after death, and there were so many people who came up to me afterward who said how much they appreciated it.

I’ve recently been thinking about this topic again because my grandmother passed away last Saturday, and I will be speaking at her funeral as well.

I wanted to make a video about comfort in mourning because I know this is a topic that affects everyone at some point in their life.

My wife passed away four months ago and let me tell you its the deepest pain to experience. There really is no making sense of somethings but learning to adjust to the reality of death this close is a tough road. I have found the greatest comfort is to remain in a conscience place of worship and absolutely understanding the victory of resurrection and everlasting life and our reward in Yeshua is very key. The kingdom of Yehovah is near.

This was extremely comforting to listen to. I recently lost my dad and I was unable to make sense of the funeral arrangements- having to cremate him. I am grieving and in need of understanding. This video has helped me put things into perspective not just for me but I have something (scriptures) that I can share with my daughter who is taking his death just as badly as I. I greatly appreciate this video and can relate. When my Dad went to sleep in death the minister said the usual lie about him being in Heaven and I just bit my tongue through it. After the service was over I talked to him privately and asked him directly, why did you lie, why don't you just tell the Biblical truth? He told me exactly this... it's what people want to hear! Though it's been 25 years it's something i'll never forget.

One thing I like about this channel is that it teaches of a loving and merciful God. That's the kind of God I prefer to place my hope in. A God who understands the unmeasurable advantage He has over mankind. God is immortal and eternal. His Life had no beginning and He cannot die. Man on the other hand is a creation of God. When my only son hung him self. The bible made it worse. I read about the Near Death Experience. That helped me more than anything out of the bible.

Thank you for sharing how to be comforted when we loose our loved ones but its very painful to be like Job, I lost my 9yrs old daughter the only child in April 24 2019, brother I cry every day and am a good person I wonder what I did wrong to deserve the punishment .

My mom passed away just last month due to cancer. Me and my family still in grieve because the incident still fresh. It's been 42 days since she died and I still keep on thinking where is she now. I am not even sure if it's true that human soul still wandering on the earth within 40 days after we die like Jesus when He rouse after 3 days when He died. Many people believe in this. This very moment, every time I lay down at night to go to sleep all I am thinking is my mom. When suddenly it came to my mind to search for a video that will comfort me in a spiritual way, so I found this. Indeed, those scriptures you have pointed out really comforted me.
