I'm not a fan of debt. I've seen it hurt more people, by far, than help. My philosophy is don't borrow money except for a mortgage and pay it off early. There are mortgage companies that lend to you without a credit score. Hey, try the peace mind of the "no debt" life. Believe me, you'll LOVE it. I know there are different opinions out there...but that's mine...from experience!

Totally agreed with your advice.
Things that can get you in trouble

1) Not picking the right college degree
2) Trying to keeping up with the Jones
3) Living above your means
4) Not saving enough from your paycheck

Lastly material things doesn't take of you, only sound investments can take care of you.

Gee, to some sociologists:
Lower class work with their hands.
Middle class work with their heads.
Upper class inherited their wealth (and really don't need to work.)

Yes! Debt is so normalized! My parents taught me to avoid debt and I teach my kids the same.

Listening to this while making bread for my family to save on groceries. I didn't realize how close we are to moving up in class. We have been making sacrifices for years. Saving like crazy. We are currently trying to pay off the house and we don't look like we are rich. I would love a new couch and maybe some newer clothes. However I know it'll be worth all this when we pay off the house 5 years from now. 🙌

You actually pointed out an additional great wealth-building point. Make sure the partner you pick to marry is the type that is on the same page as you and never get divorced. I have been married 31 years and retired at 58 with a net worth of 6.8 million dollars. My wife has been with me every step of the way, raising two great kids who are also on their way to becoming rich by saving 35% of their salaries and already have over 200K each in Roth, 401K, and tax accounts.

To climb the ladder quickly have other people generate wealth for you, either as an owner, creator, investor, etc and maybe you’ll need a little luck too.

If you rely exclusively on exchanging your own time for a salary you can still achieve financial success but you will spend a large portion of your life to get there.

It sounds like you follow the same methods as Dave Ramsey which I have been following. I will most likely have my wife's car paid off later this year which we bought last year then I will build a 12 month emergency fund and then put 15% in my 401k.

A car payment isn't a bad idea if your interest rate is lower than what you would earn on the cash if it is invested. But....you have to be smart enough to have that cash invested and earning money for you.

I came here to learn how to invest after listening to a guy on radio talk about the importance of investing and how he made $460, 000 in 4 months from $160k, somehow this video has helped shed light on some things, but I'm still confused, I'm a newbie and I'm open to ideas.
