BremSter solves "Scattershot" by Riffclown.
This Sudoku uses the Arrow constraint.

📋 Puzzle Rules:
• Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 in each row, column and box without repetition.
• Arrow: Digits on an arrow must sum to the digit placed in that arrow's circle. Digits may repeat on an arrow if allowed by other rules.

You mentioned I'd be upset. Nothing could be farther from the truth. You showcased facets of the logic in this puzzle that most people would ignore. I learned some aspects of this puzzle that piqued my interest as much or more than the intended logic. Your goal of showcasing a puzzle rather than showcasing yourself is admirable. I'm honored and thankful for your solve and can't thank you enough for what YOU bring to this community as a whole.

17:51 for me. Cheers bremster for bringing out great puzzles to us.

The key to this one is row5 and the bulb in r7c5. After you've resolved that it's an easy way to the end.

Done in 10:44

46:30 with a bit of video help.

Quite a tricky puzzle.

RiffClown made another banger here.

Quite nice once you figure it out.

That middle row does more work than you'd think.

I was able to get it down to limited candidates using maths.

Now to see if Bremster has some tricks for me to learn.

One thing you can get almost right away is R6 C5 can only be 1 or 3.

The reason being that if you put both 1 and 3 on the 2 cell arrow in column 5, you'd end up with two 4's in box 2.

This is a pleasing looking grid! I look forward to trying it. Thanks, Bremster!

I was on fire with this one. I can't explain how I saw it, but I solved this in 12:36. Amazing fun!

17:58 for me. I thought I would have to do battle with set theory but it turned out going through the options for 9, then 8, then 7 really worked well and suddenly the arrows were super restricted and it all fell into place. The arrows in box 5 in particular turned out to be helpful and thinking about what can go in the very centre.

Lovely puzzle! Thanks!! Took me 14:47 of happy solving…
The circles in box 5 did it for me, by reducing the option of a 5 in r4c6 because of the given 3’s, together with the only possible spot for the 8 in c7.

10:30 I couldn't do anything with the grid at this stage until I propagated the 8s around, and then placed a certain 9.
20:20 If nothing else works, try Sudoku on 8s and 9s.
25:10 I think that you did it the hard way, but you finally got the 89 pair in block 5, row 6. The next step might be to try the 5 and 6 in the 56-circle.

I didn't think I was going fast, but I finished in about 35 and 2/3 minutes. I'm glad that you were willing to check that you did everything correct before the 56-cell. It would have been such a waste to destroy it and redo it.

If you look at where 8 and 9 can’t go to start, you can pretty much find an x wing of 89 pairs in boxes 2 and 5 placing most of the other 8 and 9’s. Once you then find the 1 in box 5 using the maths as you did placing 7 in the circle of box 5 the rest is fairly simple. Good to see that you persevered and found a way through anyway.

Took me 22, and I found that mapping the high digits first worked well to start me on the path. Then mapping 3 and 1 in box 5. Don't feel I went particularly fast, but it was a fun solve, however you get there. Watching your path now, enjoyable as always.

I did this one a while back, and honestly I'm not sure how I solved it so quickly, especially looking at other's solving times... I do know I figured out the restrictions in box 5 by quickly testing out possible options on the arrows, but at this point don't quite remember the exact path, unfortunately. 😞 Somehow it only took me 8:15 (conflict checker off), so either I made a REALLY big assumption that was lucky or this one just really clicked for me. Regardless, thanks to Riffclown for a great puzzle and to BremSter for presenting it!

It was a nice and short Arrow Puzzle. I do think you complicated things in the beginning. The real thing to do is Sudoku on 9s to begin with. After all you can place 4 9s within the first 10 seconds with basic scanning and knowing basic arrow rules... aka no 9s on Arrows.

I definitely had an easier time than you. I found the 1 in box 5 immediately, then calculated the bottom arrow possibilities followed by the top arrows. It didn't take much longer from there.

07:49 for me. I find the 9's than the 8's and 7's... it became easier because of that... 🧐

That was quite the easiest Riffclown puzzle I have ever seen, but still fun. 14 minutes for me.

Actually, you solved it at 27:06 when you put a 9 at r5c8. Now, r7c9 cannot be a 9; it would force a 9 on to the arrow in box 3. Since r7c9 is a 8, r7c5 is an 8 and everything becomes much easier.

11 seconds flat for me. A tricky one. I was faffing about in the middle for too long.
