Seems like everyone in Europe thinks the same: why did I trust England?

“Why did I trust England”

The world asked.

For the people wondering: "Tiltu" was a nickname given to female radio broadcasters in Finland who broadcasted Soviet propaganda, of which the most famous was Aino Kallio, think of her like the Finnish Tokyo Rose or Lord Haw-Haw. There was no penalty to listening to them in Finland, though they were often the subject of endless mockery as their propaganda was very blatant and ridiculous.
Armas Äikiä was a communist Finnish writer and journalist who defected to the Soviet Union and broadcasted Soviet propaganda in colorful language during the Winter and Continuation Wars, which got him the nickname Räikiä. He ended up returning to Finland after the war when the Communist Party was re-legalized even though he didn't regain his citizenship he lost after defecting.
In the song Stalin is thus asking why the Finns didn't just fall for the propaganda, despite it being very ridiculous and blatant.

I really like Finnish song for 3 reasons:
- Good song/tune
- I can sing the lyrics easily (as an Asian)
- WHY DO I TRUST ENGLAND

Edit 4 months later: I am learning Finnish
edit 1 year later: german before finnish because why not.
edit 2 years later: I am now majoring German

As an Asian I love how easy Finnish songs are to sing. All the pronunciations come naturally to me. Love Finland from Japan.

But you can’t tell from such cheerful music that this is a conquering song...
