This has been one of the most incredible engineering and construction jobs that I have ever seen. The speed they made this happen is very impressive. Everyone involved should be commended on a job well done!

By the time this video was posted, all the concrete had been completed on the spillway. Two weeks ahead of schedule.

When I saw them tearing up the spillway at the gates dpwn to bedrock as well having to move the spillway walls at this location further out, I said no way they will finish on time plus they spent a hell of a lot time restoring the dentates and the chute walls.

But just like when you're driving and you're cutting close on time and youre worried cuz you feel like you're going to be late but you get there with plenty of time.

Their latest video shows the last slab/wall pours were cpmpleted with a little more than 2 weeks to spare

Amazing job and an awesome project by its sheer size and the management of the work was outstanding and the work force available to them appear to be unmatched anywhere else.

Anyone else blown away by the Franken-screed?

It may not be a moon landing but this reminds me of the Apollo program. Lots of really smart people getting together with a singular focus and pulling out all the stops to get the job done properly and as fast as possible.

great stuff - the flyover video from CAL was really great to understand the scope of the work...

Excellent work folks, let’s hope it’s all you talked it up to be in 70 years. I’m sure it will be

Can't wait until it gets filled to overcapacity so that we get to see it on the news and how well its been built.

Great idea to use ice and liquid nitrogen in the concrete mixers

The screed you refer to as the Franken Screed is in fact a Lura Screed built by Lura Enterprises!

A bit slow in getting this footage to air!

Think I'll stick with Juan Brown's reports :)
