Rule number 1 as a carrier never let a broker know you are trying to get back home.

As a 20 year truck driver it ain't no way in hell I would have took that load
Brokers are greedy.
Less than a dollar a mile that's disrespect

That's ridiculous. 2000 for the truck driver. He's has to pay for the fuel he has to pay the driver maintenance on the truck. Insurance truck and trailer payment. Not including the driver is the one putting in all the hours to load unload and the hours he drives and this broker is making as much as the carrier. He definitely is taking advantage

I’m not running for fuel wether out running or going home, can’t feed my family running for fuel, truckers carry the most expense’s. I have seen brokers keeping 50%. It don’t matter how good I made going out, The next load has no barring on any load after the first, brokers need to get real on paying the truck.

Let’s say the owner operator gets 7.5 mpg
$2000/ 2282 miles. 7.5 mpg at $5 per gallon(if not more). Comes out to $1, 525 just in fuel 😂😂😂 and he’s complaining that he has to pay $180 in factoring!!!

That’s the reason I became the broker and the carrier “truck driver” I do a lot a work but it’s worth it I get 100% I use to be leased on to a carrier but one day I got tired of the carrier taking 15% then I got my authority. Then I got tired of the broker getting half of the load while being home every day I said to myself screw this I did research and got my broker license and eliminated the middle man while at the beginning I struggled to find costumers but it’s not hard and getting all those permits to be your own real boss now it’s not costly it’s a scam to be leased on to a carrier when you have all your equipment push for your authority and broker license if you want to see real money don’t let the broker take your money you could be making 100% specially with fuel up the roof you need that extra cash

Say No To Cheap Frieght Period! Not one time you include the fuel cost to move those miles. $3+ a gallon.

as someone who has dispatched a family carrier, parts of this are infuriating.
Keep in mind this is an LTL, trailers can hold 26-30 pallets. this CAN still make a lot of money for the carrier even at this rate for all pallets.
I am also accustomed to the canadian market where ass hats like TQL and traffic tech do this for every load. (3000 miles at 1.21 USD for TL)
I am forcing myself to believe there MUST be a middle ground and stealing from a carrier on select freight.

I like brokers like these. I would book the load cancel it after I get all the shippers info and go behind his back and book it directly.
I get these all the time

I know this is an older video but I still want to comment. I’ve been on the other side as a carrier. If the driver is happy with the rate offered, you should be happy with the increased profit margin. It’s not personal, it’s business. As an owner operator, I know my operating costs. So if the $2000 isn’t enough, I’ll negotiate for more money or simply pass on the load.

I have a trucking company now for 17 years. I now have a partner and we also have a broker MC. Brokers that take 40% can go to hell. Greed will catch up to you and you will deserve everything you get. 92% should go to the driver period. SHAME ON YOU

It's sad that carriers are going 2000 miles for 2 grand 🤦🏿 pretty much half of that is fuel.

This man has said some things in this video that you owner operators should be taking note that's brokers are not running for broke and neither should you, so do the math on a load and let them know what you would run it for not the other way it's your business that your like any business if you ain't making enough money coming into your company your gonna have to close your business owner

As he stated - whatever he can get the load moved for, then there’s double brokering then there’s Amazon, then there’s contract freight! If you are not happy where you are or with what you are doing, then stop making the same decisions. I think that’s what we call insanity. I do love the brokers that tell you up front / I take 10-15% and here is the original rate con! Excuse my French but there’s slow truckers, brokers, agents and dispatchers in all aspects of life!

That carrier was a fool. They paid 1500 for fuel and 1000 to the driver at .45cpm. You made 1300 and didn't have to spend that on anything. That's why trucking companies can't make it. When do you think you'll run out of carriers to rip off?

How did you get the $1.54/mile charge for the Shipper in this case? And in general, how do you determine $/mile? What factors go into that equation?

I'm an flatbed owner op and usually flatbed rates are high I don't move anything for less than $4 per mile specially right now with these diesel prices if carriers stopped taking cheap freigh maybe the brokers wouldn't try to take advantage of us cause those guys are crooked and not needed tbh most of the loads I run are Shipper to Carrier only loads. Shippers are starting to realize that "Brokers" are not needed and that they rob both the shipper and the carrier with those ridiculous prices they charge to "move" their freight.

Brandon, your channel is an inspiration to everyone and anyone new to this business. I subscribed and hit the like button on your channel. I fully support you as a former carrier and broker. I am now a Criminal Justice scholar and forensic psychologist, but I still love this industry and this business in particular. Much continued success to you, brother.

Hauling a load below your CPM, is just plain stupid and it's a matter of time before you're out of business.

The leg work is the hard part?🤔 From the $2000 how much is the carrier net profits? Don’t make it seem that you’re having a lot of expenses.. It’s not hard work to coordinate.. Brokers should be capped at 15%
