Yep, good info! For a long time, minor 7th arpeggios with some chromaticism have just set well under my fingers as a way in to improvisation.

What you say is true, Dm75- is the same as Fmi6 ( first inversion) and F dorian fits perfectly. Than altered over G7( alt) to Cmi. Sounds great 👍

Yeah, but how do you choose the root note of the minor scale? Just use the one where the chord is diatonic?
