As a G9 video shooter, to me the GH5ii is a BIG improvement over the original GH5 mainly because of the internal 10bit 4K50/60fps and also since it has the G9 IBIS that is much better then the original GH5. I'm waiting for the GH6, just to see how much better it will be, but most likely will get the GH5ii because it is much cheaper and offers so much for the money.

I've been a Canon & Sony user but sold all my equipment. I'm considering moving to the Panasonic format so my question is:
should I buy the Gh5 ii or wait for the Gh6?
My main reasons for recording would be parkour videos and family videos. That being said, would the gh6 be overkill? I've never owned a camera with 4k capabilities but don't know if it makes sense to get the Gh5 ii when the Gh6 is coming out soon.

The only features i wanted from gh5ii is the focus control ring for manual focus. I hope lumix come out with an update for the previous gh5 camera for that features.

The only real reason a GH5 owner would buy the GH5M2 is if they needed another camera, or needed to replace one that got lost, stolen, or broken. I remember a video you put out sometime in the last year where you bought a new GH5. For me, the GH5M2 was my first entry into the Lumix system, and I expect to add a GH6 after it comes out.

I’ll probably just go with the mark ii, I’m still in the G7 soo honestly that’s a really good upgrade for me. Though I am waiting to upgrade for a bit soo maybe I’ll wait longer to see what the gh6 has to offer but as for now my eyes are on the mark ii 😊

As someone who doesn't own a (proper) camera yet, would you say go for the gh5mk2 or wait for the gh6? I heard that the gh6 could be double the price of a gh5. Is this true? I will mainly use it for staged cycling videos, so scenes can be redone, cyclists can ride slower than usual etc. Is the autofocus of the mk2 good enough for this? Thx

Thought I was gonna wait on the GH6 but a local was selling an S5 with kit lens for $1500 and I couldn’t pass up. For the time being it felt like a better upgrade compared to the GH5ii I thought about getting

I just shoot youtube videos and currently use the G9. Unless the autofocus is amazing on the G6 is amazing I see no real reason to upgrade. What are your thoughts because one day I would like to start doing paid gigs.

Once again the Mark II has a new processor just like the GH6 so it's much better than the gh5 along with better auto focusing able to shoot 422 10 bit ck 4096 2160 which the gh5 can't, and has a red box around the Monitor when recording, that's not a few upgrades.
After seeing the gh6, get the Mark II it's cheaper.

What about the people who don't have the GH5? Because i didn't, so i bought the GH5 2 instead of the over priced GH6. That has a very expensive CF Express card that you gotta purchase. No Thanks!
