To create the video files, I first exported a short video (1 tenth of a second, 1080x1080, 24fps) containing only the album artwork using Shotcut.

To merge the video (looping video over the length of the audio) with the audio without re-encoding either I used this ffmpeg command:

The audio quality should be the best that YouTube can manage as of the date of upload.
