Soul Eater Manga Editions Compared - Which is Best?

Hey guys, hope you all had a Happy New Year! It’s the first video of 2022 and I am doing a side by side comparison of the Soul Eater Perfect Editions and the individual paperbacks. What’s the best way to collect the Soul Eater manga? Here’s how they differ and the pros and cons of each.

I love that more publishers are embracing the larger page/high paper quality hardbacks. Here's hoping for a YuYu Hakusho edition in English like this someday!

I own the perfect editions and I can already tell you without watching this video: buy the perfect editions (is 100% worth just because of is 10/10 page quality).

Ngl think I might prefer paperback. The eggshell look and art work/shading is just a nostalgic to me. I used to go after school to my public library and read soul eater as a kid

I'm been massive fan of Soul Eater for over ten years now so even though I own all the singles, I've been buying the Perfect editions as well! 😅 I can't resist the covers with all new art from Ohkubo! Very stunning release! Great video!

Unfortunately back when I was collecting Soul-Eater a few years ago all that was available was the standard tabokan paperbacks. Same with Hellsing, Berserk, and Blade Of The Immortal. Though I did double dip on the Hellsing Deluxe editions, They are gorgeous!

I feel like if you haven't read the series already, Perfect Edition is the best choice. Working at a bookstore & briefly looking online, it seems like it's WAY easier to snag the Perfect's to get through the series. Great video!

I am considering making soul eater the first manga I collect, I own a few volumes if different series but don't have a complete collection of any of them, soul eater the anime was great with lovable characters but when I heard how different the manga is I wanted to check it out myself and this video is a great help in deciding which version to buy.

Thanks for raising the quality bar past upper floor levels now I will have to add Soul Eater to my reading and collection list it’s great you gave such discerning treatment to this series it seems to flow under all the other manga channels radars they don’t spend time on it but clearly you and Brad are getting to be gurus in the field keep your standards high you never compromise I LOVE IT!

I prefer the individual book cover art. & also the translations, sama & chan are used to address ppl which is more authentic to me; nevertheless, awesome manga which ever version you get. Thx for the upload, Robin-suan.

Thanks for the tip on the hardcover binding! I’ve read Gundam: the origin manga and they’re all hardcover which I love but never knew of this trick to make the book easier to read. Definitely doing this when I get the soul eater perfect edition. 👌
