Folks its was a fan animation!!!! They were just redesigning the characters and look for fun-it's not that deep. Lots of artists like taking childhood favorites and redesigning/reinterpreting them as an exercise for practice. They're not 'destroying your childhood', it's just people who likely grew up with the show just like you having fun and practicing.

Technically, Jimmy Neutron was never cancelled.
The company who animated it went bankrupt after failed attempts at making movies, so the series might have possibly continued for several more years provided they hadnt branched out.

Jimmy Neutron is not underrated. It was extremely popular at the time and the movie was Oscar nominated. It simply didn't last as long as SpongeBob.

It's a fan-animation. Someone's friend made redesigns, and they had the animating urge and got help from another art friend for the background. It turned out to look very professional, so props to them.
