I know my great grandfather from this beautiful city. He left to Palestine where my father was born. I wish I can track my roots. One day I want to visit.

Once I have been in Trabzon. It is definitely wonderful city. People are very friendly . I particularly liked small sweet restaurants. Hopefully back here :)

It is absolutely one of the most astonishing cities of turkey. It is culture itself. You can see several types of cultures in turkey, one of them is here, trabzon.

I'm Greek and the Trapezounta is consider to be my hometown. My grandparents were greeks from this particular area. They were refugees. They were forced to leave or they would be killed. However we must develop peace each other in the future without arguing and having wars all the time!!!

Ethnicities also come and go, but people remain. Greek, Turkish, the same as empires in the end. They will go and come, and mix with other things. So what then is most important? These two beautiful countries (three if we count Cyprus) I wish could convene. The rest of the world around them could benefit so much from them.

I find it so fascinating, how as many women wear headscarves as don't in cities like Trabzon. I wonder what that would be like here in the US, so socially similar in our divide between the very secular liberal and the very religious conservative, if we had some piece of clothing that would make that more visible in public. I've always thought Turkey and the US are quite similar in our social geography. We might understand you better than those EU countries lol.
