Line 6 Helix Firmware 3 5: I'm surprised! | How I build my presets...

We have a very important firmware upgrade for the line 6 Helix line of pedalboards. You know that I strongly believe that the cabinet and mic simulations have a big impact on our tone, and If you follow my comparison videos, you know that for every comparison versus Line 6 pedalboards, like Valeton GP 200 versus HX Stomp, I have always mentioned that the Line 6 pedalboards were laking a nice mic simulation section. Well, this problem seems to be overcome with the new firmware 3.5. So I hope you enjoy, and please subscribe and ring the bell, as it would help me to make more videos like this!!!

It's a crazy update, thanks for the video Leo... these 5-7 years units had all the hardware capabilities to handle this update. In the same time, we understand the DSP is far from being optimized.. as corporation, Yamaha objectives are for sure to sell... This is a smart move for everyone. instead of releasing new hardware, they gave boost for selling units, and existing user base is stronger than ever. 👍

It’s a very cool upgrade, Helix has been out a while now & Line6 could have released a new unit making the selling point the new cab suite but to add this level of depth & control as an update shows they value their users & the original product, which I imagine = some VERY happy HX users! Great playing as always ! I really like the Cab Updates. So much to explore, it takes patience and carving but once I am happy with my preset, I make an IR one too, just to have the choice.
But the flexibility with all the mics and angles etc is deep and it is worth learning.

I got the HX close very close to launch which I realize now has been a few years. I am just blow away that they finally did this and even lowered some dsp on internal cabs. Makes me feel like my IR’s aren’t as needed with all the new options.

Glad they are still updating them. I still far prefer the mic and cab options in my TwoNotes Cab M+ pedal, so these updates don’t affect me much, but it’s a nice option for people that don’t have a TwoNotes or better IR options.

Has there been any better changes with the Tone feel after the 3.50 update? Is the tone feel similar to the Fractal audio now with the helix mostly using hi gain? Or is Fractal still Miles ahead over helix in terms of Amp sound, Tone feel and dynamic response?

They've really upped their game with this release. I'm hoping for the addition of a Boss BD-2 Blues Driver next time or some preamps for the HX Effects (as I consider a preamp a kind of effect - others may beg to differ).

As a performer. Will the Helix Lt route stereo, without a cab block, to a pair of Line 6 Powercab plus that are in guitar speaker mode ( amp in a room ) also know as non FRFR mode, while routing stereo with cab blocks to front of house?
