Bajji is a popular South Indian evening snack. Bajji’s are also made during festivals and important occasions. In this video, we will see how to make Onion & Plantain Bajji, it is best to serve with Coconut Chutney.

Onion/Plantain Bajji Recipe

Besan Flour - 1 Cup
Rice Flour - ½ Cup
Ajwain / Carom Seeds - ¼ tsp
Red Chilli Powder - ½ tsp
Salt - ½ tsp
Baking Soda - 1 pinch
Water - As Needed
Onion - 1 no
Plantain / Raw Banana - 1 no
Oil - To Deep Fry

Cooking Instructions:

1. Thinly slice the raw banana and keep aside.

2. Cut onion into rings and keep aside.

3. In a mixing bowl, mix besan flour, rice flour, ajwain, red chilli powder, salt,
baking soda.

4. Add water to form a batter. Not too thick or not too runny either.

5. Dip the raw banana slices and onion slices in the batter and deep fry in hot oil.

6. Drain the excess oil using a paper towel.

7. Serve the Bajji hot with Chutney.
