Grateful Dead [1080p60 Remaster] - August 11, 1987 - Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison, CO [SBD]

This is a full video remaster of the production listed below (full audio and video lineage before i workerd on it)

FIRST NOTE: The sound durring the opener (cold rain and snow) is a bit warbbly but improves dramatically afterwards. Sorry, there's not a better source! Just putting this here to make sure people don't get turned off by the initial sound quality)

I retained the soundboard master (David Gans board touched up by Charlie Miller)
Original 480i video transfer from kevin tobin was deinterlaced to 480p @ 60 frames per second
Upscaled/Augmented to 1080p60

Video workflow = "There's a lot of tools in a toolbox" (confidentital for time being)
I use programs that are decades old and i use stuff that was developed inn the past week, and some of it i develop myself.
It's alll a work in progress at spitting in the face of "you can't make a 1080p video from a 480i video" :)
Think outside the box. :)

As always thanks to Josh (GratefulDavis) for all of his help on ALMOST every video I've released since the beginning of September!!! He's really beenn kicking ass for all of us and making my job a LOT easier!

Just saw both Red Rocks shows and kept thinking of this one. Didn't go in '85 then Jerry was in a coma for '86 and I thought I would never see them. When '87 came around and Jerry was well, there was so much excitement and I was hooked right away. The positive vibrations were palpable and a drug I was immediately addicted to. Kind groovy people being kind and groovy to each other at the Chief Hosa campground changed my life. Strangers stopping strangers, smiles, joints, beers, Miracle tickets, kind veggie burritos, buying stickers by the side of the road in Morrison, one man gathers what another man spills... These are the experiences that make me a wealthy soul.
My seat was very close to where this was filmed. Grateful for this surprise!

I wish I could have been there to experience Jerry. I was 4 months old when he passed away.

I was here. My first and only GD show. About to start my senior year of high school at Cheyenne Mtn. I went along with some of my musician friends who swore this was the best band ever. I was never a fan. I remember the keyboard player being the only standout musician. The vocal harmonies were so out of tune I had to take several breaks and leave because I was getting nauseous from it. Lol. Great fun if you dig it, but I was often baffled by what the crowd was cheering so hard for.
Oh well. It’s history now. Peace.

I saw them in early eighties when it was still a cult kinda thing. Gotta admit, it was nice when the mainstream found the Dead and they were all over the news every time the circus came to town. With all the buzz, from '87 to '90 they were still it for me.
