People genuinely seem to forget this version of Messi. They forget just how unbelievably dynamic he was. Back then he didnt walk around or stand still at all. He was perpetual motion. EVERY TIME he got the ball he dribbled by people. He never gave up on the ball either. He won it back. He was like a dog chasing a ball in the garden. He'd always get it back. He was electric.

When he started to become a 30/40/50 goal a season man he then started to focus more on scoring/being effective but this version of Messi was probably my favourite. He was unstoppable with the ball at his feet. He could, and did, dribble out of anything. It was like watching a magician. He was miles ahead of the rest, even Ronaldinho(who was also unreal). When Ronaldinho won the Ballon Dor he said "This award says Im the best in the World but Im not even the best in Barcelona" coz he knew that Messi was on a different level.

Watching Messi back then was so exciting. Watching him transfer into a goal machine was incredible. He had to do that to compete with CR7. Watching him develop into an attackin midfield/playmaking assist king was amazing. He proved he could really play anywhere across the front line but I loved the young version of Messi the best. The long haired kid on the wing who dribbled by everyone, never gave up on a ball and never walked around. What a player. What a career. What a World Cup. GOAT

This what i love about players like Messi. There are like 3, 4 or 5 defenders in front of them and they dont give a crap, they just go over them and try to surpass them with their unique style. Messi made history because most of the time he was surpassing players in occasions like this for a long time and on a regular basis. What a legend!!!

Some people are just born with a special talent for something. They just have something that God gave them that separates them from the rest. There's Federer in tennis, Jordan in basketball, Tendulkar in cricket and of course, Leo for football. His control is crazy, even at such a young age! He knows what the defender is going to do even before the defender knows. Greatest of all time!

Some people like the old Messi more. I don't. The "new" Messi is more complete. OK, I understand people like to see more runs etc, ... But he still does that, the only difference he now does much more than only runs. In every single video of Ronaldo dribbling skills, you can maximum see 10 minutes of dribbling in his entire career (which is btw 2 years longer than Messi's), but in each of them, there's always from two to four slow motions...Here, hundreds of dribbles, shown only once, and all almost unbelievable and impossible. This man is a genius. Nobody can compete. He's truly the greatest of all time.
