In the age of IIoT / Industry 4.0 machines and plants are often accessible via the internet or part of an extensive network and thus easily vulnerable. Jens Schirmer, developer in the CODESYS Group, illustrates the different threat levels and explains how measures integrated in CODESYS help to ward off or avoid possible threats. He demonstrates a new, integrated tool “CODESYS Threat Modeling Editor”. It reliably detects a threat situation and closes existing vulnerabilities. The application examples shown demonstrate how users benefit from this new editor.
